กฤดากร สุดประเสริฐ

การศึกษา : อนุบาล – โรงเรียนพัฒนาวิทยาลัย
ประถมศึกษาและมัธยมศึกษา : โรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญบางรัก
มีความสนใจในศิลปะตั้งแต่เยาว์วัย เนื่องจากเกิดในตระกูลศิลปินที่สืบเชื้อสายมาจากหมื่นช่างชำนาญกิจ ซึ่งได้สืบทอดงานศิลปะมาตั้งแต่สมัยบรรพบุรุษทั้งด้านช่าง หมอยาโบราณ นักดนตรี สถาปนิก ฯลฯ แต่โดยส่วนตัวแล้วกฤดากรมีความสนใจทางด้านช่างและจิตรกรรมไทยเป็นพิเศษ ด้วยการสนับสนุนการบุพการีและพี่ๆ ที่มีอาชีพเป็นสถาปนิกและจิตรกรมีความสามารถทางด้านวิชาช่าง โดยเป็นช่างแทงหยวกและแกะเครื่องสด เป็นผู้ที่คอยชี้แนะทางด้านการเขียนลายไทย ทำให้มีพื้นฐานการเขียนลายไทยตั้งแต่เด็ก
พ.ศ. 2518 ได้เข้าศึกษาที่โรงเรียนช่างกรมศิลปากร เมื่อจบการศึกษาได้มีโอกาสช่วยงานอาจารย์เฟื้อ หริพิทักษ์ ศิลปินแห่งชาติในการบูรณะซ่อมแซมลายเสาโบราณที่หอไตรวัดระฆังโฆสิตาราม ทำให้กฤดากรมีความชำนาญในการเขียนลายไทยเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นลำดับ แต่เมื่อศึกษาต่อในระดับวิชาชีพชั้นสูงได้เพียงครึ่งปี ก็ต้องลาออกเพราะพี่ชายขอให้ไปช่วยอาจารย์จักรพันธุ์ โปษยกฤต ทำหุ่นกระบอกชุดสามก๊ก เนื่องจากในช่วงนั้นมีงานชุกทำไม่ทัน ได้ทำงานกับอาจารย์จักรพันธุ์อยู่ถึง 9 ปี กลังจากนั้นในช่วงปี 2535 – 2538 ได้ออกมาเปิดบ้านหุ่นไทยของตนเอง แต่ด้วยปัญหาเศรษฐกิจทำให้บ้านหุ่นไทยต้องปิดตัวลงอย่างน่าเสียดาย หลังจากนั้นหนึ่งปีได้มีโอกาสเปิดบ้านช่างไทย และได้รับพระมหากรุณาธิคุณจากสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ทรงมีพระเมตตาเสด็จราชดำเนินมาทรงเป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดบ้านช่างไทย ในวันที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2539 เพื่อการทำงานด้านอนุรักษ์งานช่างและงานศิลปะไทยจนถึงปัจจุบัน

Born to a family of artist descended from Muen Changchamnankit, which passed down artist knowledge for generations including artisanship, traditional medicine, music, architecture, etc. Kritdakorn showed an interest in art since he was young. He was particulary interest in the artisan aspect, particulary Thai art, with the support of his parents and older sibling who were architects, and skilled artist in the carving of stalks and fresh products, who also provided guidance in Thai art and design, giving him a strong foundation in this since he was young
In 1975, Kritdakorn enrolled to study at the collage of fine arts, departments of fine arts and upon completionwas given the opportunity to help Ajarn Fua Haripitak, National Artist, in restoration of the design on ancient pillars at the Tri hall, Wat Rakang Kositaram. This increased his skill in Thai art and design. Six months into furthering his education Kritdakorn resigned as he was asked by his brother to help Ajarn Chakraphan Posayakrit in creating the three kingdoms puppets as at the time the workload was heavy and couldn’t be complete on schedule. He worked with Ajarn Chakraphan for 9 years, Following which, in 1992 – 1995, he opened the Baan Hun Thai (Thai Puppet House). Due to the financial crisis,Baan Hun Thai unfortunately had to close. A year after, Kritdakorn opened the Baan Chang Thai (Thai Artisans House), was granted the great honorof HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presiding over the opening on 4 November 1996, for the preservation of thai artisanship and arts.
