หลังสำเร็จการศึกษายึดอาชีพศิลปินอิสระสร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะ เคยได้รับทุนจากหลายสถาบัน เพื่อนำผลงานไปแสดงยังต่างประเทศ ทั้งเอเชีย ยุโรป และอเมริกา ผลงานที่สร้างชื่อเสียงอย่างมากได้แก่ การอุทิศตนเขียนภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังวัดพุทธปทีป กรุงลอนดอน ประเทศอังกฤษ เป็นเวลา 4 ปีโดยไม่คิดค่าจ้าง
ผลงานเขียนภาพประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์พระมหาชนกในพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวและผลงานการสร้างวัดร่องขุ่น วัดบ้านเกิด ในจังหวัดเชียงราย เริ่มก่อสร้างปี 2540 จนถึงบัดนี้ และจะดำเนินการสร้างไปจนตาย เพื่ออุทิศเป็นงานพุทธศิลป์แก่แผ่นดิน ได้รับคัดเลือกจากกระทรวงวัฒนธรรมให้เป็น ศิลปินศิลปาธรคนแรกของชาติ เมื่อปี 2547

Following graduation, Chaloemchai became an independent artist, receiving scholarships from many institutions in order to display his work in Asia, Europe and the U.S. His work that created a great deal of reconition for him is the wall painting in Wat Buddhataweep, London, England, which took four year to complete and was pro bono. Other work in cludes illustrations for the “Pra Maha Chanok” Royal compositions and the building of Wat Rong Koon in his home province of Chiang Rai. Construction began in 1997 and he will continue working on this until his death as a work of Buddhist art to the country.
He was selected by the Ministry of Culture to be the first National Silapatorn Artist in 2004
