การศึกษา : ปริญญาตรี จากคณะจิตรกรรมประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร

ปัญญาเป็นอาจารย์สอนศิลปะผู้มีชื่อเสียงงของไทยจากประสบการณ์ในด้านการสร้างสรรค์ผสมผสานกับการศึกษาค้นคว้าด้านวิชาการศิลปะ โดยนำไปสร้างสรรค์ผลงานในแบบไทยร่วมสมัยที่มีบุคลิกเฉพาะตัว และพัฒนาไปสู่ความสำเร็จสูงสุด เป็นที่รู้จักในวงการศิลปะทั้งในและต่างประเทศ เคยได้รับรางวัลการแสดงศิลปกรรมจากต่างประเทศ เช่น British Council Scholarship to study Printmaking at Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. : Represented Thailand at SPARA ASEAN Art Conference, Jakarta. และได้เข้าร่วมโครงการ 2nd ASEAN workshop, Exhibition and Symposium on Aesthetics, Manila. ด้วยผลงานสร้างสรรค์ที่โดดเด่นและเป็นที่ชื่นชอบของวงการศิลปะ จึงมีนิทรรศการแสดงเดี่ยวและแสดงกลุ่มอย่างต่อเนื่องทั้งในและต่างประเทศ ปี 2522 ได้รับรางวัลที่ 1 เหรียญทองบัวหลวง ประเภทจิตรกรรมแบบประเพณี ครั้งที่ 4 โดยมูลนิธิธนาคารกรุงเทพ จากประสบการณ์การทำงานศิลปะของอาจารย์ปัญญา ทำให้มีโอกาสได้ถวายงานรับใช้พระเจ้าหลานเธอพระองค์เจ้าสิริภาจุฑาภรณ์ ในการสร้างพระอุโบสถวัดธาราทิพย์ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ นอกจากนี้ยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในงานด้านบริหาร เคยดำรงตำแหน่งรองอธิการบดีฝ่ายศิลปวัฒนธรรม และปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งคณบดีคณะจิตรกรรมและภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร

Panya is a very well-known art instructor in Thailand. His experiences in art creation and studies contribute to his unique Contemporary fine art. His success was accumulated. He is widely recognized both in National and international art society, as well as granted many prizes and great opportunities such as British Council Scholarship to study Printmaking at Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. : Represented Thailand at SPARA ASEAN Art Conference, Jakarta. He also joined the 2nd ASEAN workshop, Exhibition and Symposium on Aesthetics, Manila. Panya’s artworks are very unique and appreciated by many people. He has constantly joined several group and solo exhibition both nationally and internationally
Because of his expertise, he was granted an opportunity to work for the Royal Family. Lately, he worked for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Siririndorn in creating the hall of a temple, Wat Tharatip, Chiang Mai. His achievement proves that Panya is the Thai contemporary artist who possesses the great skills and is devoted to the country. In addition, he was also the Vice Rector for Art and Cultural Affairs. In present, he is the Dean of Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University.
