Taking the starring in the second chapter of Secret Garden, the Fall 2013 collection designed by Raf Simons for Dior is captured gorgeously by the lens of lnez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
All the house codes are there: the graphic motifs drawn from the male wardrobe (and already favored by Christian Dior in his day); deep and electric color (fiery red, powder pink, darkest black); the Bar line, immediately recognizable with its nipped waist and exaggerated hips. And if, for the Fall 2013 collection, all the Dior codes are there, they’ve been reinterpreted through Raf Simons’ modern and sophisticated vision. The motifs and the colors are a play of daring pairings: Prince of Wales check sweater with houndstooth skirt, Bar jacket over asymmetric cocktail dress. The Diorissimo bag appears in pop colors (orange, pink, turquoise), Dior Contrast gloves are chic in black and white, and the Mise en Dior pearl necklaces and Diorama cuffs are of XXL proportions. The heart of the secret garden in Versailles beats with the very spirit of Dior.
